Zane Hennig Greenwood, Indiana Obituary – Cause of Death: Greenwood Police Officer, Zane Matthew Hennig found dead – REPORT.

Officer Zane will be remembered as an amazing man. He loved his family and he loved this country. Very passionate about everything he did.

On Sunday morning, the body of a former Greenwood and Indianapolis Metro police officer was discovered.

Following a report of a person who was not responding in the parking lot, Greenwood Police discovered Zane Hennig dead at Craig Park. Hennig was unconscious when medical personnel arrived on the site and tried to revive him.

According to Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt, a medical examination and toxicology results will determine the exact cause of death.

Greenwood Police hired Hennig on June 7, 2021, and he resigned on August 10, 2023. He was once employed by the Indianapolis Metro Police.

Hennig was one of five Greenwood police officers who were facing dismissal for allegedly breaking department policy by sending offensive communications via instant messaging.

In August, three officers Tyler Kintzele, Zane Hennig, and Jacob Hagist resigned.

Zane was a dedicated father, husband, business owner, and outdoorsman.
