By Matthew Martinez

Elon Musk’s groundbreaking announcement regarding the change in Twitter’s brand name and logo has got Xvideos trending on the platform as fans anticipate change to the Twitter video player.

The new Twitter owner is moving at lightning speed when it comes to making changes and upgrades to the platform. Although Elon Musk stepped down as Twitter’s CEO in May 2023, the billionaire is still very passionate about it. As he previously revealed, Twitter plays a key role in his plan to make an everything app like China’s We Chat. Hence, his latest announcement to turn Twitter’s brand and logo into X and the fact that it is now owned by X Corp is just the start. However, the 52-year-old’s decision has inspired a string of Xvideos memes on the platform. While some are confused about why it’s trending others cannot stop making hilarious jokes about it.

Why is Xvideos trending on Twitter?

Elon recently announced Twitter’s rebranding as X in a series of tweets. The business magnate introduced a new interim logo X for Twitter. He further shared Twitter’s CEO Linda Yaccarino‘s tweet explaining their vision. In her tweet, she wrote, “X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.”

Elon also announced that the new logo will go live soon. Moreover, the X.com website also leads to Twitter now. However, Twitter users soon began discussing what the new Twitter media player will be named after this change-up. Soon many came to the conclusion that it will be called Xvideos, which ironically is also a name of a popular adult video site.

It is important to note that neither Elon nor any Twitter executive has announced a new name for the platform’s media player yet. However, this did not stop fans from joking about it.

Xvideos memes flood after Elon Musk’s brand-change announcement

A few people joked about how the adult entertainment site could sue the billionaire if Twitter media player was named Xvideos.

A few fans used this opportunity to make an innuendo about how they would like to watch X-rated videos on Twitter.

Some others joked about how they’d react if their girlfriends asked whether or not they knew a site named Xvideos already existed before Twitter’s change.

Some users joked about how Twitter executives had not thought the X brand change through.

What is a Twitter video player?

Twitter announced the birth of its new video player in September 2022. This was a month before Elon’s takeover of the company in October 2022.

The platform’s new service is very similar to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube’s short videos. However, it was still a major move for Twitter. It involved an update to Twitter’s media viewer feature with videos now expanding to full screen with a single click. It gave viewers access to an immersive viewing experience.

To find the feature on Twitter, you can access your account via mobile go to For You page and scroll down to find videos matching your searches.
