Rumors that Ice Spice is dead debunked as hoax swirls on TikTok
Rumors are flooding the internet that rapper Ice Spice is dead, but you shouldn’t believe everything you read online.
The musician is alive and well and has simply fallen victim to a death hoax, which are sadly all too common on social media.
This month alone, people were fooled into believing US politician Mitch McConnell and TV star Steve Harvey had passed away.
Now, Ice Spice is the latest victim, but there’s no need to panic…
Ice Spice death hoax floods TikTok
The hoax appears to have emerged on TikTok this week where people began making videos claiming the 23-year-old had died.
“It has been reported that American rapper Ice Spice has been found dead,” one audio says alongside a black and white video of the star.
Another adds “Is Ice Spice dead??? Keep me up with this!!!” while a third writes “RIP Ice Spice,” but the death rumors are all false.
One even claims she passed away in a car accident and says “I’m literally so heartbroken”. However, the music star is completely unharmed.
This comes as fake Ice Spice and Pete Davidson dating rumors have also become a viral internet joke this month.
The rapper is alive and well
A quick look at the rapper’s Instagram and TikTok profiles reveals Ice Spice is very much alive and thriving right now.
In fact, she’s recently been hanging out with Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West after the 9-year-old dressed up as her earlier this month.
The pair made a TikTok together in which they danced to Ice Spice’s famous track Munch, which has become an anthem on the app.
In another two clips, they also danced to the TikTok-famous track Boy’s a Liar and some of North’s friends joined in too.
The star from The Bronx shot to fame in 2022 and has taken over the internet. Now, fans are begging Starbucks to create a Munch drink.
‘Ice Spice is dead’ trend goes viral
Another trend has gone viral on TikTok in 2023 that sees fans writing: “My kids pranking me in 2084 that Ice Spice is dead.”
People are then adding a video of them screaming and crying, showing how upset they would be if they thought out rapper had died.
This is part of a hilarious wider trend that sees kids tricking their parents into thinking their favorite celebrity has passed away.
People are going up to their parents and asking “Have you seen the news?” before saying the celebrity’s name and the age they ‘died’.
Their reactions are always comedy gold!
