Peter Van Oppen serves as Independent Chairman of the Board of the Company. Mr. van Oppen has served as our chair and a member of our board of directors since January 2013. Mr. van Oppen has been a partner at Trilogy Partnership, a private investment firm focused on technology and telecommunications, since 2006. Prior to joining Trilogy, Mr. van Oppen served as chair and chief executive officer of Advanced Digital Information Corporation, or ADIC, a publicly-traded storage management software company, from 1994 through its acquisition by Quantum Corp. in 2006. Prior to ADIC, Mr. van Oppen served as president and chief executive officer of Interpoint, a predecessor company to ADIC, from 1989 until its acquisition by Crane Co. in October 1996, and has also been a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Bain & Company. He is a former director of Level 3 Communications, Inc., Isilon Systems, Inc., Western Wireless Corporation and other public companies. Mr. van Oppen currently serves as board member and chair of the Investment Committee at Group Health Foundation and is a former vice chair of the UW Medicine Board and former chair of its Finance and Audit Committee, is former chair of the board of trustees and former chair of the investment committee at Whitman College and serves on the board of directors of several private companies. In addition, Mr. van Oppen has supervised public company chief financial officers and is a member, on inactive status, of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a former director of Seattle Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Mr. van Oppen received a B.A. in political science from Whitman College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.
