In 2019, he was a member of the Lynchburg Hillcats and played in 123 games for them. He had a batting average of.280, with three home runs, 39 RBIs, and 26 doubles. In 2018, as a junior, Kwan played in 66 games and had a batting line of.355/.463/.457 with two home runs, 41 RBIs, and 14 steals. Following his junior season, the player was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the fifth round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draught.

Kwan went to school at Washington High School in Fremont, California, where he finished his senior year with a batting average of.462 in 2015.
After completing his high school studies, he went on to enrol at Oregon State University, where he participated in collegiate baseball. In 2016, as a first-year player, he appeared in 35 games and had a batting average of.215. As a sophomore in 2017, he played in 55 games and started 42 of them. He had one home run, 18 RBIs, six doubles, and eight stolen bases during that season. His batting average was.331, and he stole eight bases. Following the conclusion of the 2017 season, he participated in the summer collegiate baseball competition with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was taken by the Cleveland Indians in the fifth round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draught after completing his junior year at college. 2019 will find Kwan serving at the White House.
Steven Kwan’s Professional Career
Kwan signed with the Indians and made his professional debut with the Arizona League Indians and was later moved to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, hitting a combined .346 over 17 games between the two clubs.
In 2019, he played with the Lynchburg Hillcats, batting .280 with three home runs, 39 RBIs, and 26 doubles across 123 games.
He did not play a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Kwan was a member of the Akron RubberDucks to start the 2021 season, but he was traded to the Columbus Clippers in the latter half of August. Due to an injured right hamstring, he was sidelined for a total of six weeks during the season. Kwan had a slash line of.328/.407/.527 in 77 games split between the two teams, in which he hit 12 home runs and drove in 44 runs. The newly called Cleveland Guardians selected Kwan to their 40-man roster on November 19, 2021.
The Guardians made the announcement that Kwan would be participating in the team’s Opening Day lineup on April 2, 2022.
He made his MLB debut on Opening Day as the starting right fielder on April 7, and recorded his first major league hit off Kansas City Royals reliever Scott Barlow.
After making his debut, he went on to become just the sixth player since at least 1901 to have a game with five hits inside his first three games in the major league. Additionally, he went on to become the first player since at least 1901 to reach base safely 15 times in his first four games. Before swinging and missing, he had seen 116 pitches, which is the most any batter has seen to start their career since the year 2000.
Kwan received this honour for his play in the American League during the month of April 2022.
