Jerry Whitney, who resided in South Shore, South Dakota, passed away on January 2, 2024, and we regret to inform you that we had to say our goodbyes to him. His son Scott Whitney, his brother Dale Whitney, and his close friend Marlys Chambers all passed away before him. His parents, Myron Whitney and Lorraine Whitney (Tribitt), who resided in Waverly, were also among those who passed first.
In addition to his son Matt Whitney and his wife Sarah, he is survived by his granddaughters Hayley Schulte and her husband Devon, Harley and Bently Whitney, as well as his siblings David Whitney, Larry Whitney and his wife Marge, Jane Haan and her husband David Stratton, Alvin Whitney and his wife Sue, and Joan Taecker and her husband Roger. In addition, he leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews.
Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel, located at 1111 4th Street Northeast in Watertown, South Dakota 57201, will be the location of the visitation that will take place on Monday, January 8th, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Additionally, a funeral service is scheduled to take place at the same venue on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 10:30 AM.
