James Gunn’s Friend Michael Rosenbaum Introduced Jennifer Holland To Him

Jennifer Holland, James Gunn’s girlfriend and he’s been dating since 2015. Michael Rosenbaum, Gunn’s best friend who played Lex Luthor on the TV show Smallville, introduced them. Rosenbaum was dating one of Holland’s friends and volunteered to put Gunn and Holland together. The Guardians of the Galaxy director saw a photo of Holland and asked about her identity. Rosenbaum’s then-girlfriend proposed a blind date with actress Peacemaker.

But Holland had never heard of Gunn, despite the fact that he is one of the most sought-after filmmakers in Hollywood thanks to the success of the Marvel movies. Holland told The Hollywood Reporter that she was nervous about dating Gunn at first.

“James is considered by her to be a producer and director. The actress said, “I think she put the producer first or something, and that made me feel bad. Holland went online to check on him and change his mind. She agreed to a first date after watching some of his interviews and deciding that he was agreeable enough. Fortunately, the couple got along well and spent seven hours talking about their lives. It was the beginning of something great for both of them. Seven years later, in February 2022, Gunn knelt to propose to Holland with a ring and the proposal was accepted by her.

The director took to Instagram to post a photo of his fiancee drinking from a cup while showing off her giant engagement ring. Gunn’s post consisted of just a wink and a red love emoji, but everyone knows what the photo means. Some of the happy couple’s famous friends and co-stars congratulated them. “Aaahh Congratulations!!!!!” Meanwhile, Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, tweeted “OMG!!!!!!!!” with many heart eyes and red love emoji.

Before they announced their engagement, Gunn’s girlfriend told People how their working relationship brought them together. The actress joined the DC Extended Universe streaming series, Peacemaker, with members of Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. She plays Emilia Harcourt, an ARGUS agent who assists the Peacemakers in achieving their goals from the communications room. According to Holland, working on the show with her partner has made them “closer” as a couple.

“It was amazing. We had a completely unbelievable experience. Our personal relationship was strengthened by the meeting. We are quite fortunate that we work extremely well together. together, and that simply worked for us.”

She also said that when Gunn started writing the series, he had no idea how far he would push her character. But as he continued to write, Harcourt became an important figure for whom she was very grateful to Gunn.
