Tony Finau won the 3M Open in Minneapolis last weekend by three strokes, giving him his third PGA Tour title. During the final round at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, he made six birdies, which helped him finish ahead of Sungjae Im and Emiliano Grillo, who were his closest competitors.
The year before, Finau beat Cameron Smith of Australia in a playoff of one hole to win the Northern Trust. Before that, he had competed in 142 races since his historic win in Puerto Rico in 2016. In ten of those races, he came in second.

In an interview in 2017, he also said, “Some people hear different things about what Mormons do and believe.”

As a Mormon, he said, believing in “latter-day revelation” and understanding “the word of wisdom” have been the most important things in his life.

Tony Finau was born on September 14, 1989, to Kelepi and Raven Finau. His parents were born in the United States and live in Salt Lake City, Utah.
