Unfortunately, the end of the rope became entangled on his left arm, causing him to accidentally take the boat’s propeller right to his dominant arm, severing it.

Many others have been motivated by the adaptive Crossfit athlete’s story to hold onto hope and always do their best in life, despite challenges.

On June 26, 2004, on Lake Gaston, North Carolina, Logan Aldridge suffered an accident when he chose to take it upon himself to untie the tow rope from the boat.

When Logan Aldridge had his leg amputated
His left arm was slashed clear to the bone by the wings of the propeller, which was terrible and horrifying. Logan, 13, cried for assistance, and his dad and the others responded as soon as they heard him.
They transported the young youngster to the closest hospital, South Hill Community Memorial Hospital, and did their best to save his arm. Logan was flown by his family to UNC Chapel Hill Medical Center on a chopper.
It took Logan a whole year to get used to losing his arm and using his non-dominant arm in place of his dominant arm after the doctors were unable to preserve it.
He moved on with his life and began to work for his dream despite the damage after being motivated by another female who, despite losing her arm in a Tiger Shark attack, did everything she could.
Logan can now proudly introduce himself as a Crossfit athlete who is not behind anyone else and whose number of hands has no bearing on his performance.
