JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com—Kaca spion menjadi hal yang paling penting untuk berkendara bagi pengendara mobil. Tanpa melihat ke kaca spion, pengemudimobil akan sulit melajukan mobil dengan aman.
Keselamatan berkendara ada di setiap sisi mobil, oleh karena itu melihat kaca spion sangatlah penting.
Mobil memiliki kaca spion pada sisi kanan, kiri dan tengah. Ketiganya sama pentingnya untuk diperhatikan saat melajukan mobil.
Akan tetapi, masih banyak pengemudi mobil yang terlalu fokus ke jalan. Maka dari itu, banyak pengemudi kerap lupa untuk melihat kaca spion.
Training Director Safety Defensive Consultant Indonesia (SDCI) Sony Susmana mengatakan jika spion kiri, kanan dan tengah menjadi hal yang tidak boleh terlupakan oleh pengemudi.

“Posisi spion kiri, tengah dan kanan harus merupakan satu gambar di posisi belakang yang berhubungan,” katanya pada Kompas.com baru-baru ini.
Fokus pengemudi haruslah multitasking tidak hanya ke jalan depan saja. Sony mengatakan jika aturan yang tepat melihat kaca spion bisa dilakukan berdasarkan durasi. Aturannya selama 1 detik pengemudi harus melihat ke spion tengah.
Kemudian 4 detik melihat ke depan, 1 detik melihat ke spion bagian kanan. Lalu 4 detik melihat ke depan, 1 detik melihat ke spion kiri, 4 detik melihat ke depan dan seterusnya.
Anjuran ini bisa digunakan oleh pengemudi tanpa mengganggu konsentrasi saat berkendara. Apabila menyepelekan, ada banyak bahaya yang mengintai di jalan raya.
“Bahaya ditabrak atau diserempet kendaraan lain dari belakang dan kiri atau kanan,” kata Sony.
