Brittney Tavares Obituary: Beloved Fairhaven wife, mom dies following long battle with cancer.

Beloved Fairhaven wife & mom, Brittney Tavares lost her long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 27. She leaves behind two adorable children, an amazing husband and an entire community who loved her so much.

Brittney would light up any room that she entered.

Brittney and Ryan, her husband have been together for more than half their lives, having started dating when they were 14-year-old freshmen in Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School’s class of 2006.

They celebrated their 20 years as a couple in October, 2022.

“We have waited a few days to post this so the family could have time to grieve. We lost a member of our shelter family this week. Brittney Tavares lost her long courageous battle with cancer on Sunday,” Fairhaven Animal Control and Shelter wrote in a Facebook post.
