By Mia Tucker

Ark: Survival Evolved is set to receive an update soon that will include ‘framerate improvements’ but more interestingly, ‘split-screen multiplayer’.

The official twitter account of developer Studio Wildcard expects the update to arrive on the Xbox One on Feb 10th.

The split-screen multiplayer will be playable on a local or online play and will enable you to survive in the tough world of Ark: Survival Evolved with a friend.

The patch will include a number of other additions such as new dinosaurs, armor, weapons and construction pieces. The patch is accompanied by a handful of stability tweaks too which should bring the Xbox One port on par with the PC version.

Ark: Survival Evolved Will See You Fighting Dinosaurs

Originally released on steam in June 2015 and subsequently on Xbox One in December, Ark: Survival Evolved is still in an early access stage and the final game will not release until June 2016. The early access program allows you to purchase the game at a discounted price, play the game during its development and you are granted the full release at no extra charge. The final game will also be available on PS4.

Ark: Survival Evolved sees you waking up on a mysterious island. You need to gather resources and build settlements in order to survive. The island is plagued with deadly dinosaurs such as T-Rex’s and Raptors who you can fight or ideally, tame.
