Two persons were discovered dead inside a Searsmont home on Monday afternoon, according to state police, who are now conducting an investigation.
The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on Borough Road at around 1:50 p.m. on Monday, according to state police, where two adults had been discovered deceased.
The Major Crimes Unit-Central of the Maine State Police is investigating the incident.
The reason and manner of death will be ascertained by an autopsy, authorities said.
One of the body found was unofficially identified as Amy Nickerson from Belfast, Maine.
The public is not at risk, according to the authorities.
