Alan Jackson is not dead as hoax claims
Days after delivering a moving performance at the Country Music Awards 2022, Alan Jackson has fallen prey to the infamous internet hoax that claims he is dead.
HITC had previously debunked a similar hoax about Bruce Willis. The same site has now targeted the country singer, although he is very much alive.
Famous celebrities are often subjected to hoaxes that spread baseless rumors that they’re dead. The one that has gone viral now involves Alan.
Alan Jackson isn’t dead
Taking into consideration Alan’s health in 2022, fans were left concerned for obvious reasonson seeing claims on a website that the singer is dead.
The main page of the site features a framed picture of Alan with “RIP” written next to it, and the title reads” 6 minutes ago/with a heavy heart as we report the sad news of 64-year-old singer Alan Jackson.”
However, there is no official statement or report to prove the claim. Furthermore, another post placed right below claims actor Bruce Willis also passed away, while he was still alive.
We urge you to report such false news and abstain from circulating the same to avoid the further spread of misinformation.
Country star’s health in 2022
Alan was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in 2021. He recently postponed his shows due to his health condition.
Mayo Clinic explains it is a group of inherited disorders that cause nerve damage mostly in arms and legs. Due to the weakening of the muscles, one may experience difficulty in walking and experience loss of sensations.
The singer opened up about his battle with the condition on the TODAY show and shared that he was diagnosed with it 10 years ago. The condition made it difficult for him to even balance in front of the microphone.
“And I know I’m stumbling around on stage and now I’m having a little trouble balancing even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable, and I just want people to know that’s why I look like I do,” he shared.
Singer performs at CMA 2022
Alan’s performance at the award ceremony was preceded by Carrie Underwood’s speech as she recollected being in the audience as a child at the country singer’s concert, which was also her first.
She performed his hit number from 2003, Remember When. Alan later took to the stage to deliver his performance of his 1991 single, Don’t Rock the Jukebox.
He also paid tribute to his lovely wife Denise by saying: “She’s held me up all these years and she’s my best friend. And she gave me a wonderful family over there.”
