On October 4, 2018, the third episode of Season 2 aired. A local tragedy rocks Mary’s faith, and Sheldon unexpectedly turns into an ally.

4. Pasadena, in Season 3, Episode 16

In the “Pasadena” episode of Young Sheldon, Sheldon makes his first trip to the prestigious Caltech. Sheldon’s father, George Sr., is left to look after the rest of the Cooper family while Sheldon is away.

Despite being a single parent, George Sr. is a great father who shows his love and care for his family. George Sr.’s wife, Mary, makes the mistake of overhearing Georgie and his girlfriend on the phone. 

Sheldon’s twin sister Connie is attempting to soothe a resentful Missy in the meantime. Strong emotions are evoked in the audience by the Star Trek TOS theme song, which plays as the plane takes off and Sheldon leaves for Caltech at the end of the episode.
