The son of popular local rapper turned podcaster host Gillie Da King was murdered in a fatal triple shooting in the city’s Olney section Thursday night 20 July 2023 police said.
This shooting occurred just before 8:30 p.m. near the crossing of Mascher Street and Nedro Avenue.
When police went there, they found 2 shooting victims about a block away, including Devin Spadey (25) who had been shot in the back. They took those 2 to Einstein Medical Center where Devin Spadey was declared dead.
So many people on the scene told police that the 25-year-old victim was YNG Cheese, Gillie Da King’s son.

Who Was YNG Cheese?
YNG Cheese was a Philadelphia-based rapper, who was 25 years old. He was also an aspiring rap artist and was reportedly killed in a shootout that occurred on the night of Thursday, 20 July 2023.
YNG Cheese was an aspiring rapper with famous hip-hop songs like Last Time, What U Want, The One, Difference, Let’s Play Ball, and Foreal Foreal among others to his name.
He had more than 66,500 followers on Instagram and almost 2000 subscribers on YouTube.
YNG Cheese has pursued in the footsteps of their father as a rap artist. In fact, he has mostly collaborated in the past, for example in 2021 for the album Macc N Cheese.
YNG Cheese Killed In A Fatal Triple Shooting
YNG Cheese was well recognized as the son of Barstool Sports’ “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” host Gillie Da Kid. He died in a Thursday night 20 July 2023 shooting in Philadelphia.
Devin Spady (25) was killed during a “triple shooting” in the 5800 Mascher St. area, a witness for the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to the news.
When police went there, they found 2 shooting victims about a block away, including Devin Spadey (25) who had been shot in the back. They took those 2 to Einstein Medical Center where Devin Spadey was declared dead.
The 2 other victims in the shooting, a 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, are both in stable condition at Einstein Medical Center.
Police are trying to find out who shot these 3 men and why.

As per the news, Gillie Da Kid’s eldest son YNG Cheese killed in a triple shooting on Thursday night. This mishappening took place on the 5800 block of Mascher Street, Philadelphia, around 8:30 pm ET.
YNG Cheese was killed once in the back and was rushed to a nearby hospital by the police who came to the scene moments after the shooting.
However, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The other 2 victims of the shooting were also taken to the hospital, where they were both in stable condition.
