VALORANT adds innovative map, Fracture
VALORANT Episode 3 Act 2 kicks off with some changes to the Agents, but even more important, a whole new innovative map. It's name is Fracture and is unlike any other maps Riot has made before.
That Riot is not scared at all to try new things with VALORANT isn't something we weren't aware off, but they do show it again with their new map Fracture. On this map the defending team starts in the middle, while the attackers can come for them from either side. Next to that, there is a rope system that makes players slider under the map to give even more flanking opportunities. It's interesting to see that a new map can completely change the way VALORANT is played and it enforces the idea that each Agents works differently on each map. For example, the Agents that can flank well will play with their food on Fracture.
Check out the map in the trailer below.
But while the attackers seem to have an advantage on this map, the defending team has a ton of routes to take as well on this H-shaped map. While we suspect the Attackers to plant the Spike more easily on this map than others, there are fun upportunities for the defending team to retake the site.
While the map won't be in rotation for the big VCT event in which the pro-players will show their best skills, I am surely curious at how they will perform on this map.
Next to the new map you should be aware of some changes to the agents. Breach, Sova and Brimstone's abilities now also damage the abilities you can shoot at, like Cypher's Trapwires and Killjoy's Alarm Bot. Raze gets a small nerf to her Boom Bot and Killjoy turrets now slow bij only 29.5%.
If you are curious at how good the pro's really are, be sure to check out VCT the coming weeks.
