Columbus Day 2022 has sparked a range of discussions on Twitter and the users are naturally indulging in it using the funniest memes.
For centuries, the second Monday of October has been observed as Columbus Day, commemorating the exploration of Christopher Columbus and his arrival in the Americas in 1492.
And for a long time, there has been an ongoing debate surrounding the same, as people have argued that the day should celebrate Indigenous people and their rights rather than the explorer.
Last year, President Joe Biden issued a proclamation for Indigenous Peoples Day, which is on the same day as Columbus Day, while praising the role of Italian Americans in U.S. society.
It’s only the second year of Indigenous Peoples Day in 2022 and many are unhappy that tomorrow isn’t a holiday for them, while many states that observe Columbus Day have declared a holiday on October 10.

Make Election Day a federal holiday so people can actually VOTE & not worrying about running late to the polls & not getting to vote because they only can vote in a specific district but work an hour(s) from home & will never make it in time due to TRAFFIC
