Ride with the Country Music of The Oregon Trail
In celebration of the legendary game for its 50th anniversary, Gameloft, HarperCollins Productions, and Decca Records US have released the full score for The Oregon Trail. The game has received notable reception with its release on the App Store, specifically the Apple Arcade aspect. At the time of this writing, the game currently has a 4.8 out of 5 rating with over 2,000 reviews.
The Oregon Trail: Music from the Gameloft Game was composed by Nicolas Dubé. He worked extensively on crafting the melodies for the game, to the point where he worked with Native American scholars to get the perfect sound. He went on to comment on his passion for the project by saying:
It’s a joy to see this soundtrack release, so that players can experience The Oregon Trail even if they haven’t played the game. We really wanted to create something that touches upon the adventure of the trail, the pain of the struggles and hardships, and the joy and elation of successfully reaching Oregon or fording a river or taking care of your party. This soundtrack is something we’re really proud of, a moody alt-country experience that should speak to fans of the game and more.”
In addition to the soundtrack’s release, The Oregon Trail is also getting a new update that adds community goals, a gallery feature, new contracts, and a tranquil mode for the meditative crowd.
