We can expect the new chapter to kick off with an epic action sequence as Minjun fights the irregular monster flooding the residential area. It was not out of luck that Minjun learned about the sudden appearance of the dungeon, but the residents of that area were lucky that Minjun was around when it happened.

The Dark Mage’s Return to Enlistment is an action fantasy manhwa with the typical dungeon setup. The MC is pretty powerful from the beginning since he already transmigrated into a fantasy world and became a powerful dark mage to stop the world from ending, before coming back to the real world once again.

The MC was hoping to rest up after achieving the amazing feat of saving a world, but unfortunately, a dungeon break occurs the next day, and he finds himself recruited into the army.

Recap

In the previous chapter of The Dark Mage’s Return to Enlistment, Minjun, and Eunsoo are having food at the cafeteria when he realizes that Eunsoo recently got promoted to Corporal. Minjun congratulated Eunsoo since she had been advancing in the ranks rapidly, but Eunsoo seemed mad because Minjun was far ahead of her.

She retorted back saying that Minjun shouldn’t be saying that, considering he is a Sergeant already. As they are having food, Minjun gets notified by one of his underlings about the appearance of a new dungeon, and Minjun seems to be pissed at the dungeon’s bad timing.

He excuses himself, saying he has to go to the washroom before going to the place the dungeon had opened. He looked thankful that his underling had notified him about it on time and wondered where Dongsik had wandered off. Minjun prepares himself to jump inside the dungeon and solve it before anything happens.

However, he is shocked when a monster actually comes out of it before he can do anything. Minjun decided to fight the monster and subdue it there since it was a residential area, and he was aware that reinforcement was on its way since the military had already noticed the presence of the dungeon.

When they actually start fighting, Minjun is taken aback because the irregular monster has a weirdly sophisticated way of fighting. He jumps back to avoid an attack but the weapon was actually attached to a chain, which made it pretty long range. He had never seen a monster fight with chains and blades like that.

He is about to take the monster down when Eunjoo appears and ruins his plans since he can’t use his dark magic in front of her. Minjun subdues the monster with an attack right away, which surprises Eunjoo, and he prepares himself to fight again when more monsters begin appearing from the dungeon.
