That ’70s Show: Jackie’s 5 Best Outfits (& 5 Worst)

The character of Jackie Burkhart from That 70’s Show was one of the main figures of the series and a fashion icon. She had a knack for putting together inventive and creative ensembles that always seemed to work for her. She mostly dressed for the decade exemplifying some of the best styles from the 1970s.

Jackie is pretty vain for more of the series and cares deeply about how she looks including, of course, how her outfits look. Although most of her outfits were successful, she also had a few missteps throughout the series where some outfits didn’t work as well as others.

Best: Rainbow Striped Jumpsuit

Jackie wears this quintessential 1970s look and it’s one of her easier and more relaxed outfits as it’s one piece instead of an ensemble she’s pieced together herself.

Jackie seems very comfortable in this outfit as well, which is something she probably doesn’t think of very often in her fashion choices, but it is nice to see her comfortable and relaxed without losing any of her style.

Worst: Monotone Faux Fur

Jackie’s red dress on its own is a fine outfit, but the addition of the presumably faux fur coat on top muddles the entire look.

Her red dress is almost the same color as the brownish-red jacket that it almost looks like one piece, completely blending in, and the large chunks of faux fur attempt to break up the monotone look, but it’s not very successful. The jacket and dress on its own are stylish and fit Jackie well, but together it’s not a successful look.

Best: Packers Chic

Jackie put together an entire themed outfit to go to a Packers game with the gang. Jackie is sitting next to her best friend Donna, who is dressed in a Packers sweater and scarf, and the differences in the two outfits are very in character for them both.

Jackie has on a cute plaid jacket with green, yellow, and brown with a mustard sweater under that is very Packers but also very stylish. She also ties the entire ensemble together with a Packers hat worn like a beret.

Worst: Jackie On Jackie

Although it’s pretty iconic and very in character for Jackie to wear a shirt with a photo of herself on it, it’s also one of her worst outfits.

Jackie’s running to the hospital to visit her boyfriend Kelso and wearing a yellow shirt with a photo of herself on it. She has on a light red sweater on top with a gold necklace and earrings. The outfit is mismatched and isn’t up to Jackie’s normal stylish standards.

Best: Red And Pink Berets And Scarves

Jackie mixes reds and pinks in this outfit and not everyone could pull off this look as well as she does. She’s known for wearing berets and scarves throughout the series, but there’s something extremely stylish about the patterns on her scarf and sweater and how all of the colors in the ensemble work together.

She also has on understated pink earrings and her lip gloss matches the pinks as well.

Worst: All Of The Plaid

This outfit isn’t terrible and could work, but the cropped look with the red breaking up the black, red, and white plaid breaks the mesmerizing matching pattern.

Matching suits or pants and jackets of the same pattern can be stylish, but this outfit isn’t one of Jackie’s strongest looks.

Best: Relaxed Off The Shoulders Dress

This relaxed and patterned off the shoulder dress fits Jackie perfectly and she looks incredibly comfortable and stylish at the same time. It’s another one-piece look where Jackie doesn’t have to put together a whole ensemble and instead just adds some accessories in jewelry and a bag.

Although it’s a paler look compared to Jackie’s style that’s also in a cooler tone of pastel blue, the floral pattern is intriguing enough that it works within her wardrobe and is a successful stylish outfit.

Worst: Pale Pastel Ensemble

The combination of the crop top and high-waisted pants should work, but there’s something off about this outfit for Jackie.

Jackie tends to wear warmer colors like reds and pinks or ensembles with more patterns and intrigue, and this cooler-toned outfit with little pattern ends up looking flat compared to the rest of Jackie’s wardrobe.

Best: Sheer White Floral Gown

This ethereal and romantic look Jackie wears is out of the ordinary for her type of style, but it ends up working.

The sheer look of the top of the dress and the mostly simple white with only a few embellishments of a floral pattern end up working well for her despite her usually finding success in mixing patterns and being loud with her clothes.

Worst: Childish Ensemble

This outfit could work and Jackie would be the first one to make it work, but there’s something very off about it. She has on high-waisted pink pants and a pastel rainbow shirt, but the shirt and the added pink barrette in her hair make the ensemble look very childish and it doesn’t work for a high schooler, even though Jackie is younger than the rest of the group.

The pants are great and if they were paired with a less childish type of pastel rainbow shirt without the barrettes it would be a successful look.
