Skeet Ulrich Raised Children As A Single Father Following Divorce from Ex-Wife Georgina Cates

Skeet Ulrich is perhaps today remembered as “the guy in Scream,” a true man who was and was all for one purpose. It’s not that Ulrich doesn’t like acting. I just love you more.

Ulrich grew up in a broken family, was kidnapped by his father and dragged across the country for three years, finally living only with his mother when his father disappeared.

So when Ulrich’s marriage to Georgina Cates ended in divorce when his children were just four years old, he couldn’t sit still and let history repeat itself.

On March 9, 2001, Ulrich and his ex-wife, Cates, had two gorgeous fraternal twins, Jakob and Naiia. Unfortunately, the marriage of Ulrich and his wife did not go well, and the couple divorced in 2005. After all, the father was given custody of the children.

Sticking with acting will allow Ulrich to hire an army of nannies to care for and provide for her children. However, because of his busy schedule, he will have less time to spend with his children.

A choice has been made.

To an uninformed observer, Ulrich may seem like a Hollywood loser – a fad. However, upon closer examination, it became clear that his withdrawal was very intentional.

In an interview with Fatherly, the actor explained that his decision to stay home after his divorce from his wife and continue to take care of the children was a response to the circumstances in which he grew up.

“I won’t go into the specifics of how I was raised or not raised, but I would never make my child feel unloved.”

In his youth, the actor sought professional counseling to help him overcome the emotions associated with his adult years. But no matter how many times he ran in his early years, it didn’t add up.

When he wraps up the idea and realizes that his childhood trauma can never be repaired, the analyst advises him that the memory will only stabilize after he has children.

“I didn’t understand it when I was 23, but he was right,” he admits. “I relived my youth in a new way. And I became the parent I wish I had.

Since then, the actor has only taken jobs that could keep him in Los Angeles – a career disadvantage.

Riverdale is the only occasion he claims to have worked on a project outside of the City of Angels. Ulrich also admitted to hiring a nanny. Even so, he had only had to do it twice before.

Ulrich revealed, “When I was working on the first season of Jericho, I hired a babysitter. “They started kindergarten, and when I finished Law & Order, I hired a babysitter again. That is all.”

He only began contemplating acting assignments outside of Los Angeles when his children turned eighteen.
