RHONJ Star Jackie Goldschneider Discusses About Her Battle With Anorexia

In a recent episode of Bravo’s RHONJ Season 12, housewife Jackie Goldschneider talked about her struggle with anorexia. Jackie and her husband Evan Goldschneider were out for an early dinner while their children were at sleep camp when she opened up about her anorexia. When Jackie put it on the scale and saw how thin she was, she felt things were spiraling out of control. She feared she would die if she didn’t quit after years of extreme workouts and restrictive diets because of anorexia.

She said in conversation with Even Goldschneider:

“I was afraid to eat and afraid to gain weight, but I was always hungry.”

Jackie Goldschneider’s unwillingness to eat anything may have led to a discussion about her battle against anorexia while having an early dinner with her husband. Jackie recounted the time she fainted when the couple met Evan’s friend while on a date.

“I get it from somewhere where I don’t consume anything. Do you recall those times? I was on the verge of death. I felt healed when I finally started to recover and could eat whatever I wanted. I’m not sure, I’m not fine. Last year was quite difficult for me. I went into a small hibernation.

RHONJ star Jackie said she shouldn’t be satisfied with herself for being underweight. She said that she prefers to have dinner earlier because she doesn’t want to eat. Evan responded by saying “that’s not life.” Evan also said their children have witnessed Jackie’s “ritual” eating habit of only eating salad, much to her dismay. She stated:

“That made me very uncomfortable. If I do it to myself is one thing, but convincing my child that it is normal behavior is another… I worry that I will repeat the offense and will commit suicide. I simply don’t want to do it anymore.”

Evan says he’s been worried about Jackie for a long time and is happy to see that she’s now open up and sharing her story with him. Evan suggested they see a therapist, and Jackie agreed. He declared:

“The realization is amazing, and I will be there to support you every step of the way. I am your partner; If you hurt, I hurt.

Jackie discussed the issue with actresses RHONJ, Melissa Gorga and Margaret Josephs over breakfast. Jackie talked about her experience with anorexia in an interview with PEOPLE. She stated:

“I’m incredibly proud of myself for getting through it because it was so difficult.” That’s not a good way to live. Terrible. It is just terrible. And I hope that by sharing my story, I will be able to help those who, like me, are suffering in silence. Because I wish I knew I would get over it someday. I was always worried that I would never stop doing this.”

RHONJ star Jackie also spoke about her worries about undereating and over-exercising. Her outlook on life changed dramatically with the birth of twins. Jackie hopes that by sharing her experience, others with similar problems will receive treatment.
