A Foxboro man who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in North Attleboro near Exit 7 Monday afternoon has been unofficially identified as 58-year-old Randall Ricketts.
In a recent incident reported by the State Police, the collision occurred on I-95 southbound at approximately 4:15 p.m., involving a Buick LaCrosse and a Cadillac Escalade.
A 61-year-old man from Providence was behind the wheel of an Escalade when the vehicle suddenly lost control. The Escalade veered across the median and collided with a Jaguar XJ, which was being driven by Ricketts in the northbound lanes.
Ricketts was declared deceased at the location of the incident.
The driver of the Escalade was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with severe injuries.
As per eyewitness accounts, the driver of the Buick reportedly came to a halt momentarily before subsequently evading the scene. In a development shortly after, a car that perfectly matched the given description was discovered in Attleboro. The vehicle exhibited noticeable front-end damage and was also found with a flat tyre.
According to State Police, a man connected to the car in question has been interviewed as part of an ongoing investigation to determine whether he was the driver involved in the crash.
