Dr. Matthew Painter Ph.D. B.Sc is the General Manager - Exploration of Sabre Resources Ltd. Matt is a geologist with over 20 years’ global experience in a wide variety of metals. Graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1992, with Honours in Geology, he has specialised in ore deposits and their genesis, and has a strong background in structural geology, geological mapping, and regional and mine-scale exploration.He was awarded a PhD in Geology from the University of Queensland. He worked at UQ from 1993 to 1997 where he defined mineralogical and geochemical haloes to the giant Mount Isa copper and lead-zinc deposits of northwest Queensland. From 1997 to 2002, he worked for the Geological Survey of Western Australia. Based in Kalgoorlie, his worked focused on the regional geology and various styles of mineralisation of the Eastern Goldfields Province of Western Australia.
