Kishore Das had been suffering from cancer for a long time. He passed away in a Chennai hospital on 2 July 2022. He was taken treatment in Guwahati for a long time but later he moved to Chennai for advanced treatment in March 2021. 

According to some sources, he passed away due to covid-19 complications and piles.
