Kimberly Wong Death; Young SF Woman Found Dead Inside Presidio Heights Home during Welfare Check

By Christopher Ramos

San Francisco police found a young woman dead of a suspected homicide in Presidio Heights on Thursday evening.

After being found inside her home during a welfare check, the neighborhood is shaken and a former coworker is shocked.

Kimberly Wong was recognized as the victim by an anonymous neighbor. Police sources informed KTVU the woman may be a domestic abuse victim.

San Francisco police said they found the woman deceased at a residential building in the 3200 block of Clay Street at 7:12 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a well-being check request.

Police said their homicide detail is investigating her death but provided no additional details. No suspect details or arrests were announced Friday afternoon.

Kimberly Wong died in her Presidio Heights home. Dec. 1, 2023.

Someone so youthful and brilliant. Simply put, why? Wong’s former coworker Alberto Forero called it pointless. He called her “positive, smart and energetic.” He can’t believe someone would hurt her.

Two persons we spoke with said she was fun and are grieving her death.

“We run into each other all the time,” claimed the unidentified neighbor. “It’s pretty shocking to learn of her passing in a really tragic way.” She said Wong owned her property and her partner moved in two years ago. She stated Wong was social.

“She was the first to welcome us when we first moved into the building,” neighbors added. We were always asked how we were. How was weekend?”

She was polite, knowledgeable, and lively, stated Forero. “I was her manager and we worked on making software together and I used to sit next to her,” said he. They worked for an IT company. He posted images of their work vacations, including Vancouver kayaking. He stated she liked crosswords and word games.

“Classic ice-cold shock. This can’t happen. Nobody deserves to die more than a child. That brilliant. Why? Forero said it’s absurd. That she died that way is unsettling. I hope she gets justice. She’s gorgeous. She will be missed.”

The neighbor reported no unusual activity on Thursday.

A suspect has not been found. Open and ongoing investigation.
