Jinx Chapter 42 Preview: Kim Dan’s Decision

The next few chapters would be about seeing Jaekyung’s health deteriorate and Kim thinking about how to best handle him. The Yaoi manhwa is finally on rails with Kim learning about his feelings for the MMA fighter in the latest chapter. However, knowing his feelings is one thing, and acting on them is a different thing entirely for the doctor in the coming events of Jinx Chapter 42.
Kim Dan has incurred a lot of debt from Jaekyung, both financial and emotional, although the latter part is a bit questionable. Regardless, with how things have been going it was clear that Kim Dan will be the one to fall for Jaekyung. While it would have been nicer for Jaekyung to have fallen for him, what we have is interesting still.
Jaekyung didn’t have what many may call emotional maturity. He doesn’t even realize how he feels about himself, let alone others. And this let the story down a meandering path, with characters slowly but surely learning about how they feel. Though Jaekyung isn’t completely in the dark about how he feels for Kim Dan, that awareness is too little.

The first time Jaekyung realized that there was more going on between him and Doc, he was a little shocked. And it was also the first time readers got to see his soft side, but that didn’t last for long. As story likes to portray the top of the series as someone unpredictable, by not giving him much internal dialogue.
The Story So Far
The events before Jinx Chapter 42 are hopeful for the relationship of the two leads or the arc prior at least. The Members of the Black Gym had come to the US for Jaekyung’s title match, and his dignity on the line. However, it was Jaekyung who had made things worse for himself by not taking care of himself when he needed to.
When the news of Jaekyung’s first got out, the MMA fighter lost all reason and threw a temper tantrum. And nobody in the gym bothered to stand up to him and tell him to calm it down. If anything, their unwillingness to step in and help him shows that other characters are very much like NPCs.
Then came the US tournament when the characters had to prep for the trip and make sure things were alright with Jaekyung. Again, the big MMA fighter was out of his wits and taking his anger out on others for his lack of self-care. He wouldn’t be in a problem if he took care of himself a little, but that is not what Jaekyung is concerned with.
Jaekyung is only concerned with winning and keeping a strong front with others. He cares about the image of being strong rather than truly being strong, implying he has insecurity issues, and it has been a thing for a while now. And without this trait, there wouldn’t be much of a story as overcoming character is what makes the character grow.
Jinx Chapter 42: What Will Kim Dan Do?
Jinx Chapter 42 will start from a new place instead of continuing from the gym as there isn’t much to see there. The romance manhwa will be putting the focus on Kim Dan as an active character who would try and fix things. However, the doctor is up against a rather meddlesome patient this time.
Jaekyung has long shown himself to be unable to process that his well-being is tied to his victory. The guy is so out of touch with that simple logic that it is ridiculous at this point. But then again, if he didn’t have this issue, there would be nothing for Kim Dan to fix and get appreciated.
Sure, Jaekyung’s fixation on and keeping face is unnatural, but without that, there wouldn’t be anything Kim Dan can provide him with. It is a little forced, and inorganic when put under a lens, but there are other things too. However, this is a Fujoshi genre as we speak, so a lack of realism or character’s processing of their emotions is going to be a thing.
