HOW TO GET YOSHI IN SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY

Super Mario Odyssey is finally upon us, bringing along Mario’s newest hat companion Cappy. Much like F.L.U.D.D. from Super Mario Sunshine, Cappy grants you all kinds of new abilities to explore your world, mainly using his capture ability where you an take control of items and NPCs. But one question is still on the mind of every Super Mario fan, will Yoshi be making an appearance in any way, shape, or form in Super Mario Odyssey?

Super Mario Odyssey follows what Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto calls the “core side” of Mario 3D titles also including Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. The more “casual” games he credits as being the Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D World games. For the core games, Yoshi was never seen in Super Mario 64, but did make an appearance in Super Mario Sunshine in 2002.

To get Yoshi in Super Mario Odyssey, you must first complete the game and unlock the Mushroom Kingdom. You’ll see Yoshi’s favorite fruits everywhere and a Toad that tells you that he saw Yoshi just before. Over on the left side of Peach’s Castle you’ll find a Scarecrow where you can throw your hat onto. Do that, and you’ll unlock a temporary staircase to the top of Peach’s castle. Up top there, you’ll find Yoshi’s signature egg that you can crack open. Throw Cappy onto Yoshi and you’re now controlling the lovable green dinosaur.

There are lots of puzzles in Mushroom Kingdom that will require Yoshi’s healthy appetite for fruit and ability to flutter, so make use of Yoshi on your quest of getting all of the Moons (or Stars at least in the Mushroom Kingdom) in Super Mario Odyssey!

Unlocking the Wing Cap

In Super Mario 64, the Wing Cap can be unlocked once the player has collected 10 Power Stars. It does not matter in which level or missions the Power Stars were acquired. Once you’ve gotten 10 Power Stars, go to the main hall of Peach’s Castle. There will be a beam of light shining onto the Octagonal Sun in the center of the floor. Have Mario stand on that spot and tilt the camera to view the source of the light. Upon looking up at the light, you’ll be transported to a secret course in the sky – and Mario will be wearing the Wing Cap. Fly onto the platform with the large red switch on it and do a ground pound to trigger the red switch. This activates all the red !-Blocks in every course.

How to Use the Wing Camp

The Wing Cap is a power-up that is acquired by hitting a red !-Block. When Mario touches the Wing Cap, it allows him to fly across the course – much like a glider. Tilting the stick up causes Mario to dive, and tilting it down causes him to lift. Mario can take flight with the Wing Cap in a couple of different ways.

• Triple Jump: Running forward and jumping three consecutive times makes Mario perform a triple jump. The triple jump allows Mario to jump slightly higher, and when wearing the Wing Cap, it allows Mario to take flight.
• Cannon: While wearing the Wing Cap, Mario can fly when he shoots out of a cannon.

Star Walkthrough: Tower of the Wing Cap 8 Red Coins

This Power Star is fairly simple to get and is a great way to practice your Wing Cap flying skills. To get the star, you must collect the eight Red Coins in the area. There is a pair of Red Coins on the North, East, South, and West sides of the stage. Fly over to the edge of the area and grab the coins. Then, keep following the trail of gold coins as they circle around the edge of the stage to find all the Red Coins. After getting the final Red Coin the Power Star appears on the tower, next to the red switch. If you haven’t done it already, ground pound to trigger the red switch first before getting the star and exiting the course.

Super Mario Sunshine is finally back, coming as part of Nintendo Switch’s Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. Like in many Mario adventures, Yoshi joins you along the way, but if you aren’t careful, you can make significant progress before he even shows up. As such, you might be wondering how to unlock Yoshi as they’re needed to eventually reach the final level.

By following the steps in this guide, you’ll soon be reunited with our trusted Dinosaur companion. Luckily, Yoshi can be found quite early on in Super Mario Sunshine.

How to Get Yoshi in Super Mario Sunshine

Unlock Pinna Park and defeat Snooza Koopas

Your first step is unlocking Pinna Park, which is available after collecting 10 Shines and witnessing Princess Peach getting kidnapped yet again. You need to complete Episode 4 of this stage, “The Wilted Sunflowers,” which involves getting rid of some Snooza Koopas across the Park’s beach area.

That doesn’t involve any special requirements, so just wait until they get flipped over and jump on them to defeat these enemies.

Beat Shadow Mario

After finishing the stage, Shadow Mario appears in Delfino Plaza, and he has a stolen Yoshi Egg. It’s a standard chase sequence for Sunshine and like always, you need to keep hosing him down with F.L.U.D.D until he falls.

Once Shadow Mario is defeated, you can begin the process of hatching the Yoshi Egg.

Yoshi Egg Location

After the Shadow Mario encounter, the egg appears in a different location. It can be found to the left of your starting point upon loading up Sunshine, on a nearby roof.

How to hatch the Yoshi Egg

It’s not as simple as getting Yoshi to come out of the egg, though. Yoshi Eggs signal a fruit they want, which must be brought to them before they emerge.

Fruits can be found at the fruit market near the Lighthouse, and different fruits change Yoshi’s color. The iconic Green Yoshi isn’t among them, sadly, but there are three other options:

• Orange Yoshi – Papaya or Pineapple
• Pink Yoshi – Bananas or Coconut
• Purple Yoshi – Durian or Pepper

The colors signal more than just a visual change, though. Yoshi can spray enemies with a unique juice attack that turns them into specific platforms.

• Orange Yoshi turns them into stationary platforms
• Pink Yoshi turns them into ascending platforms
• Purple Yoshi turns them into forward-moving platforms

Juice also dissolves the orange goop barriers you find across Delfino Plaza, which cannot be breached by F.L.U.D.D’s standard water spray.

Note: You may have noticed the red pipe across Delfino Plaza’s rooftops with a pineapple stuck in it. Get Yoshi to eat this to unlock Sunshine’s 5th stage, Sirena Beach.

Does Yoshi appear in other locations?

Outside of the Plaza, Yoshi only appears in a few different chapters across each area that usually make use of the juice attack to reach different areas.

How to keep Yoshi alive

Yoshi also has a juice meter, which they slowly go through as you play. If the juice meter runs out, they’ll disappear. To keep Yoshi alive, you must feed them more fruit via their tongue grab.

Make sure Yoshi doesn’t touch deep water either; any contact will make them immediately disappear.

Yoshi in Super Mario Sunshine is a great companion that can make your life easier and will certainly help you get the edge in a couple of games. Yoshi has been beside Mario ever since Super Mario World was released back on the Super Nintendo. If you want to unlock Yoshi in Super Mario Sunshine, read further on how to do it.

How To Unlock Yoshi In Super Mario Sunshine

There are a ton of benefits having Yoshi by your side as you can always jump higher, take down enemies faster, and even move faster in the game.

Another benefit to having Yoshi is that the juice it spits can help melt down barriers around Isle Delfino, which will help you unlock more pathways and earn extra loot.

But Yoshi isn’t available right from the start and if you want to unlock Yoshi in the game you will need to wait a bit before you can call upon your trusty sidekick (press F for Luigi).

Yoshi can only be unlocked after you complete episode 4 of Pinna Park, here you are tasked with getting rid of the Koopa Troopas in the park, as soon as you finish this. You will have to head back to Delfina Park.

Here you will be able to see Shadow Mario holding on to a Yoshi egg, that you must recover by chasing Shadow Mario and trapping him in Fludd by spraying it on him.

Once you do that you’ll get the Yoshi egg as it will fall on the ground, and will show a small image of the fruit it requires to hatch.

You will then need to go to the fruit market nearby the beach and get the fruit which was shown earlier, as soon as you bring the fruit and give it to the egg, it will hatch and you will have your very own Yoshi in Super Mario Sunshine.

Every time you get on top of a roof, you will find Yoshi there waiting for you but with all the amazing benefits there are a few things you must keep in mind.

Make sure to not fall in deep waters as Yoshi cannot swim, and will eventually drown and die, other than that Yoshi is pretty useful and will improve your performance in Super Mario Sunshine.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is bringing Super Mario Sunshine to a brand new audience on Nintendo Switch, but because the game is more than a few years old, some of its quirks might not be immediately understandable. Take those weird, transparent boxes in Delfino Plaza behind the Grand Pianta Statue. What are those about?

Those boxes, it turns out, are alternate nozzles for FLUDD, your water-spraying backpack companion. Specifically, they’re the Turbo Nozzle and the Rocket Nozzle, which can temporarily replace the Hover Nozzle to give Mario different abilities. You’ll need to unlock them both, as well as Yoshi, in order to finish the game, so here’s everything you need to know about obtaining all three of those things in Super Mario Sunshine:

How to unlock Yoshi

In order to get any of the Nozzles, you need Yoshi first. After you finish Episode 4 of Pinna Park, Shadow Mario will appear in Delfino Plaza with a Yoshi Egg in tow. Chase him and spray him down to get him to hand it over, and the Yoshi Egg will drop. From then on, it will appear on the west-most bell tower every time you visit the level.

To use Yoshi, you first need to feed him. The Egg will have a thought bubble above it indicating what kind of fruit it wants. Most fruits can be found down in the fruit market by the beach, and can be picked up and brought to Yoshi. He’ll hatch, and you can ride him around. Yoshi can hover jump, as well as spray juice that can harm enemies or have other effects on certain kinds of platforms. If he dies by falling into water or a pit, you can find his Egg back in its original location.

How to unlock the Turbo Nozzle

The Turbo Nozzle replaces your Hover Nozzle, and shoots a powerful jet of water behind you that allows you to close distances quickly. It uses a large amount of water, but if you use it while in a body of water you can effectively skate across the ocean since it will keep refilling. This Nozzle is incredibly fun, but isn’t as practical for finishing levels as the Rocket Nozzle.

The Turbo Nozzle will become available in Delfino Plaza once you’ve collected 25 total Shine Sprites and collected Yoshi. When this happens, the next time you visit the Plaza you’ll see Shadow Mario with the Nozzle. Successfully chase him down while spraying him to get him to give it up, and the Turbo Nozzle will become permanently available to you next to the fountain behind the Grand Pianta Statue in the Plaza for the remainder of the game.

How to unlock the Rocket Nozzle

After unlocking both Yoshi and the Turbo Nozzle, you’ll need to get a total of 30 Shine Sprites to unlock the Rocket Nozzle in Delfino Plaza. Similar to before, once you’ve met these conditions, Shadow Mario will appear with the Nozzle in the Plaza. Chase and spray him until he drops it, and then it will permanently be available in the box behind the Grand Pianta Statue.

The Rocket Nozzle is far more necessary than the Turbo Nozzle, as it shoots Mario up to incredible heights. It’s necessary to reach Pianta Village atop the Shine Gate, which you’ll need to access to complete the game. Beware that it uses a lot of water, though, and you have to charge it up before it will launch you upward.

Help, I want the Hover Nozzle back!

Got a Rocket or Turbo Nozzle on and want the Hover Nozzle back? Many levels, including Delfino Plaza, will have a Hover Nozzle box near the other nozzles so you can switch back whenever you want. However, if you’re really in a pinch, exiting whatever level you’re in and entering another will automatically give you the Hover Nozzle back.

In Delfino, this should never be necessary since the Hover Nozzle is located next to the Turbo and Rocket Nozzles by the fountain.

How to get Nozzles and Yoshi outside of Delfino Plaza

All of the above advice is specific to unlocking the Nozzles and Yoshi in Delfino Plaza. However, there are several episodes that require use of other Nozzles or Yoshi to complete. So how do you get these items there?

Good news: if a level has a Shine that can only be obtained using one of these things, whatever you need will be in the level somewhere automatically, regardless of whether or not you’ve unlocked it in Delfino Plaza or not. You may first notice this in Biano Hills 6: Secret of the Dirty Lake, which has a Turbo Nozzle box you might run across before you unlock the Turbo Nozzle in the Plaza.

So if you think you need a nozzle or a Yoshi to finish the episode and can’t find it anywhere, there might be another way to complete the episode — these boxes and Yoshi eggs will always be waiting in relatively plain sight for you.

Developer and Publisher Nintendo has finally released one of the most awaited game of the year Super Mario Odyssey a platform game featuring Mario and friends which is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

As always, Princess Peach has been kidnapped by the evil turtle Bowser who plans to marry her. to rescue her Mario sets out on the journey with cappy a spirit cap which can possess anyone and take control over any object and characters.

As the game features an open world it contains many hidden secrets which can sometimes be hard to find or unlock.

How to Unlock Yoshi

To unlock Yoshi first you need to complete the game after that go the mushroom kingdom, then go toward the left side of the castle. there you will find a scarecrow interact with it this will open secret stairs on the left side of the castle which will take you the roof.

Luigi being hidden somewhere in Super Mario 64 has long been an urban legend. It was something I remember hearing about at school, reading on old forums. If only you did this, I was told, Mario’s missing brother might finally appear.

Well, it’s been 25 years, but Luigi has finally been found. Not within the inner workings of any Mario 64 copy you might own, mind, but in the source code of the game uncovered as part of this weekend’s so-called “gigaleak” of secret Nintendo development information.

Within the leak are Super Mario 64 development files for Luigi’s model, which fans have now pulled apart, stuck together and showcased for the first time.

The discovery of Luigi within the game’s development files is an astonishing find – but one that’s not entirely unexpected.

Fans have argued to what extent Luigi was ever implemented (or hidden) within Super Mario 64 ever since the publication of a 1996 interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, within the game’s official strategy guide (thanks, Shmuplations). In it, Miyamoto confirmed the second plumber had indeed been intended to appear.

“Well. until February, he was in the game,” Miyamoto said, laughing. “Ultimately, due to memory issues, we had to take him out.

“Then we were going to include him in a Mario Bros. style minigame, but because most users probably only have that one controller when they first buy their N64, for that reason (and others) we decided not to.”

So ends a quarter century-long hunt for Mario’s lost brother – although fans are still poring through the game’s files for more secrets. Birdo next?
