How To Catch Ducklett in Pokémon GO

By William Rodriguez

Now that the spooky Halloween season October has passed, many Pokémon GO Trainers might be looking for more cuddly and loveable-looking critters to catch, such as Ducklett. Ducklett is a Water- and Flying-type pocket monster from Unova that serves as a decent competitor in PvP Battle Leagues with CP limitations. However, if Trainers manage to evolve this duckling-esque creature, they will be rewarded with the elegant and graceful Swanna. Additionally, it is possible to find Shiny Duckletts with pink and purple plumage, strikingly distinct from their typical light blue feathers. Unfortunately, Shiny Swanna is less impressive, featuring only a noticeable color change on the feathers of its breast and nowhere else.

Nevertheless, Shiny or not, Ducklett and its evolution Swanna are two excellent pocket monsters that are worthwhile adding to one’s Pokémon GO Pokédex. To catch Ducklett in Pokémon GO, Trainers can only rely on RNG to encounter this Water- and Flying-type duckling out in the wild. As of November 2022, there are no Eggs that hatch Ducklett, nor do any Lure Modules feature Ducklett as a potential spawn. Of course, this does not mean players should give up, as there are other ways to increase one’s chances of catching Ducklett.

Finding Ducklett in Pokémon GO

According to Pokémon GO fans at Twinfinite, Ducklett has a higher chance of spawning near bodies of water compared to normal Pokémon. Of course, Trainers still must deal with the entire roster of Water-type pocket monsters, but there might be a slight chance that Ducklett might appear when exploring areas near water in the AR realm. Twinfinite also states that if players receive and complete the Field Research quest “Earn five Hearts with your Buddy,” they will be rewarded with a Ducklett Encounter. Nonetheless, daily Field Research tasks are randomized and only appear once on a Pokéstop, so it might be some time before Trainers receive this particular quest.

Attack of the Fanboy claims that Ducklett is more likely to appear during rainy weather in Pokémon GO. While traveling on foot during stormy or rainy is not recommended for health reasons, those who own clothing suitable for rain can check the watery areas and Pokéstops near their home for any Duckletts that might randomly appear. Catching pocket monsters based on RNG methods in Pokémon GO is not easy and might take several weeks to months before the desired Pokémon appears. Therefore, patience and persistence are key, as most of the time, the special creature in Pokémon GO that Trainers want will eventually appear.
