27 years after founding the company, Jeff Bezos has officially stepped down as Amazon boss, and the amount of money he makes per second will definitely shock you.
Back in February, Jeff Bezos announced that he was resigning from his position as CEO of Amazon and transitioning to Executive Chair of the Amazon Board.
In a letter to his employees, he said: “I’m excited to announce that this Q3 I’ll transition to Executive Chair of the Amazon Board and Andy Jassy will become CEO.”
“In the Exec Chair role, I intend to focus my energies and attention on new products and early initiatives. Andy is well known inside the company and has been at Amazon almost as long as I have. He will be an outstanding leader, and he has my full confidence,” he continued.
On Monday (July 5th), his time as CEO officially ended, but as a majority shareholder, this change in role within the company certainly won’t affect his wealth.

This equates to $152,207 every minute.
Business Insider reported that this was more than three times what the average US worker makes in a week.
