Gunchie's in Rock Island closes

Gunchie’s in Rock Island announced on social media Wednesday that the restaurant has closed its doors.
“With a heavy heart, Gunchies R. I. Is now closed,” the Facebook message said. “Thank you to all that have supported us and all that have come in to enjoy our food. I cannot thank you enough. A special thanks to all the employees who worked hard to try and make it work. Thank you again and God Bless.”
Opened in 2015 in a heavily renovated former Hunter’s Club, Gunchie’s offered pizza, tenderloins and wings — and still does at the original location in Davenport.
