Recruitment Of Research Assistant – Ashanti Region

The Ghana Statistical Service is collaborating with MTN Ghana and Georgia State University, USA to undertake a research project in the Ashanti Region and invites applications from qualified persons to apply for the position of Research Assistant in the Ashanti Region.

The Ghana Statistical Service, MTN Ghana and Georgia State University are undertaking a joint research project about digitization of payment services between small-medium enterprises (SMEs), their input suppliers, and consumers in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Job Responsibilities

1. Liaise between Principal Investigator and research team in the design of training modules
2. Organize training for field officers in data collection
3. Monitor project implementation to ensure quality control and adherence to the research specifications
4. Facilitate the successful implementation of the research projects
5. Sort, clean, analyze and report on findings from the research projects
6. Draft reports, policy briefs and other reports for publication
7. Perform any statistical assignment that may be assigned

Job Qualifications

1. A minimum of a first degree from an accredited tertiary institution in any of the following: Economics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, Public Policy, Marketing, and related fields.
2. Must have completed one-year national service.
3. Must have at least three years’ work experience
4. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suit
5. Experienced in the Use of Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) in Data
   Collection
6. Experienced in Survey work, Research work, and Data analysis
7. Experience in Mobile Money Retailing (or vendorship) or Agency Banking,
8. Familiarity with SMEs businesses
9.  Attention to Detail
