Devon Wylie Obituary; Former NFL Wide Receiver Has Passed Away.

By Rachel Davis

Devon Wylie, a former wide receiver in the NFL who played for the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, died at the age of 35. His family announced his passing, but they did not say what caused it.

After attending Granite Bay High School in California and playing football for Fresno State from 2007 to 2011, Wylie had a distinguished football career.

He topped the Western Athletic Conference in punt return yards per attempt during his senior year, finishing with 56 receptions in 13 games. He scored two touchdowns against formidable opponents, including No. 10 Nebraska and No. 5 Boise State.

In the East-West Shrine Bowl, he demonstrated his abilities once more with four punt returns totaling 54 yards.

Wylie, who was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, made six catches in six appearances.

But he was cut go prior to the 2013 campaign.

Later, in 2013, he participated in two games with the Tennessee Titans, although he was mostly on the practice squads of other teams for the next few years.

“We wanted to make this post so people who knew and loved Devon could learn of his passing because we don’t have the capacity to reach out to everyone in this hard time,” the statement stated.

“It is impossible to put into words how painful it is to lose a brother, close friend, and incredible uncle. Devon was so full of excitement and love.
