In Dan Benson’s latest TikTok, he explains why he took the leap from acting like Zeke in Wizards of Waverly Place to OnlyFans.
In his latest video entitled “Why I quit acting”, the star revealed he makes “next to nothing” from residuals of his time on the show. He says that he looks back “fondly” on his time as an actor. “But for the love of god, I could not make a living to save my life,” he said.
He then answered all those fans who had been asking him why he changed careers. He says “I basically couldn’t afford medicated dog food for my dog.”
Dan then notes how he always gets asked how much money he is making now. “It’s so much money, that I am scared to give an accurate answer,” he said. “I think I’m the luckiest person on earth,” he says in the video.
He started OnlyFans after photos were leaked online
The actor started his account in response to his photos being leaked online. He had been talking to a someone online for a year when she turned around and posted his pictures on the internet.
The former actor talked about this experience with Christy Carlson Romano on her podcast Vulnerable previously.
“It just became such a long-term thing that I felt like I knew them and then ended up sending nude photos to them,” he said. “And it was months and months later that I kind of found out that those nude photos had been leaked online and that there are now websites that are selling those pictures and videos.”
However, the former Disney star saw an opportunity in this betrayal.
