Chase Claypool embarked on his professional career when the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him with the 49th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He went undrafted in the 2020 CFL Draft. On July 22, 2020, he signed a four-year, $6.6 million rookie contract with the Steelers.
In Week 2 action on September 20, he had three receptions for 88 yards, including an 84-yard touchdown, as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Denver Broncos 26-21.
