2 killed in Monmouth plane crash
UPDATE: According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office an aircraft crashed about a half mile from the Monmouth Airport. The call came just after 11a.m. Sunday morning. Police say witnesses directed first responders to a brush area where a fire crew extinguished the burning aircraft.
Two people were located on the plane and declared dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner. Their names are not being released at this time.
No one on the ground was injured.
Crews say they believe it was a private aircraft.
Several surrounding departments responded to the scene.
The incident is now being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
